Fly Tying - Scott's Callibaetis Nymph
Просмотров 9773 года назад
Deadly stillwater nymph Scott came up with a couple years ago. It's grown to be his go-to pattern for Callibaetis. He likes to fish it in tandem behind leech, stripping it quickly. The nymphs are strong swimmers as well and very slender. Inedible 🎉
Awesome pattern for here in Northern Idaho..!! give er a try I think you'll like it
Bought the vise in March I’m hoping I can get the part. Glad to see you made a quick update.
who chose the "music" its brutal
Good Collection
Just ordered this vice last night on Amazon so will you have the new part for purchase in the future??
Your new vise should come with the new riser, however, there's still a few out there with the old one attached. If you receive one of the old ones, give us a call and we'll happily replace the riser
nice vise!
Thanks!
Just ran across this. I'm flattered!
Can you please stop that boring guitar which destroys a good instructional video!
very cool fly . thanx for the pattern!😊👍 tight lines.
he forgot to comb out his white para-post material before proceeding onto the next step.Other than that nice pattern.👍
Lethal ...
Most shops and anglers would reject this fly because of the loose and sloppy way the materials flop around the hook, and because of the slipshod manner that the cone wobbles on the shank. This fly would be the last one in the bin, if it made it to the bin at all. Not saying that it wouldn't catch a fish or two, if it ever got the chance.
Have you ever thought of tying in advance? You do have to tye while in your waders, or you could tye after dark in your cabin. A to of wasted strokes in making this fly. Could sae a lot of time. Good luck on the water though.
Trop bien merci ! i was becoming crazy
Why did the fly finish with a gold head and not a black one like in the front pic?
What brand of hackle pliers are you using? Nice video. Thanks
dead drift or streamer?
Very ice. People say purple is attractive to brown trout? I think it might well be. This fly would be nice as well with just the dubbing, ribbed with fine solver wire? :-)
you will never attach that fly to a leader because, you never cleared the eye of the hook "before you torched it with uv light. sloppy job at the end.
sound?
Wow, I loved the music! Also the fly worked wonders! Caught an 8 1/2 rainbow on it!
This is like "testing" a new car without driving it. Pathetic review.
You could be showing us clown shoes from that distance. You damn well KNOW nobody can see the details of the sole like that! The ONLY thing that is of use in this video is the shoe name. At least with that information we can find someone who will actually review the shoe, since the MANUFACTURER'S REP WON'T!
Thank you! I was pulling my hair out trying to figure that out!!
Trim the hair butts 2mm longer than overall wing and tie the in. You will not have a bunch of loose hair to trim up and it ties in easier on the top of the fly.
Thanks for this! I am wondering if you have had any issues with that tail getting wrapped on the hook? I am going to tie a few......thanks
Hey thank you! It does occasionally fowl up. I have been putting a touch of Solarez Flex at the base of the tail to keep it facing the right direction. Hopefully that helps you out!
Are the two small foam pieces mostly for visibilty? Cool fly.
Yes, exactly. Even when the fly gets a little soggy, those indicator pieces will stay on the surface. I'm sure they help with flotation, as well.
what size were those waders and can you provide your height and weight?
this is an overview not a review
Wish they came with a simple mesh bag included for transporting in small bush planes in Alaska. Also wish they were made in USA!
I don’t really see how this fly has more movement than the typical thin mint bugger. Seems like a lot of extra work to get the same effect. Your thoughts?
Hi, I was wondering if this item had a net holster of some sort?
I actually use this for fishing I put a set of brass slide over reel holders on mine and switch from my fly reel to an ultralight spinning reel for trout I absolutely love it small light and this little rod cast's like a dream
Waxed 70 denier?
Would you use a heavier thread?
Recommendation finish the fly to the back of the bead and less dubbing.
Nice I would try and tie it so it rides hook piont up though with that much weight on it
Nice pattern. Loved the music too. Sounded a lot like vintage John Fahey, but I didn't recognize the tune and I've heard most of his stuff???
Worst “review” ever.
Nice pattern and video. Shout out for using common materials that are already in most people's bins.
Did it catch anything?
*Really nice backpack>>> **nub.best/ynbf** Lots of room and very high quality manufacturing. I looked at lots of products before I purchased this one and it definitely deserves to be rated among the top fishing backpacks. Really satisfied with the purchase.*
That wasn’t a review.
Cool. Thnx
Hi will these give good grip on a fly rod when wet, will i still have good feel of the rod through them or should i go for an open palm glove, thanks for your help.
Hello, they grip well and still retain heat while wet. A open palm glove will have better feel, but might not be as warm. Personally I would prefer a closed palm glove.
@@kingfisherflyshop thanks for the reply.
Great video! I enjoyed it very much.
It’s to small
Poor technique. Material was not properly anchored to the hook so it was slipping around. Good choice of colors and nice look to the belly.
? please elaborate. What technique should we try next time? I don't see any slipping around. Spun the vise. Maybe that is what you saw?
REALLY. It looks good and fish do not care how you tie just that you made it for them.
Sucks !!!!
